Vegan Chocolate Orange Truffles

These rich chocolate & citrus filled truffles are perfect for the lovers of Jaffa flavour. Combining crushed nuts with our flours, cocoa and dates provides a delicious vegan chocolate truffle base that you could use for your favourite chocolate flavour (mint essence, rose water etc).

These truffles are:

  • Gluten free
  • Vegan
  • refined sugar free
  • protein rich


  • 170g soft dates pitted (soaked in warm water for 20mins)
  • 60g roasted walnuts or hazelnuts
  • 60g of pecan/walnut/hazelnut flour
  • Juice and zest of 1 medium orange
  • 50g of cocoa powder
  • 1TBSP of melted coconut oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 small block of Dairy free chocolate chopped (to be used for coating)


  1. Drain the dates and blitz into a puree in a food processor
  2. Add all other ingredients except the chocolate to the food processor and blitz until well combined
  3. Using a tsp measure portion out 1 heaped teaspoon and roll into individual balls
  4. Repeat until all mixture used
  5. Put into the fridge to set for 30mins
  6. When balls are set put the chopped chocolate into a heatproof dish/bowl and melt in the microwave for 30s intervals (using a spoon to mix) until runny.
  7. Using a spoon coat the balls in the melted chocolate and put onto a tray to be refrigerated until service

You could also garnish them with candied orange peel or drizzle more melted chocolate for a more fancy look. Enjoy!
