Rawsome protein balls

These Rawsome little protein balls are a lovely balance of nutty, sweet and slightly salty. Instead of highly processed protein powders why not try our awesome pumpkin seed or sunflower seed flour? Close to 50% protein and loaded with essential vitamins and minerals its a very healthy choice for boosting protein in your meals & snacks.

These protein balls are:

  • Gluten Free
  • Dairy Free
  • Vegan
  • Rich in protein, fibre, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals
  • Simple to make!

You'll need:

  • 1 cup of Pepo Farms nuts (I used Walnuts in this recipe)
  • 1 cup of Pepo Farms seeds (I used pumpkin seeds & sunflower seeds)
  • 8-10 medajool dates roughly chopped (depending on mixture)
  • 2TBSP of Pepo Farms pumpkin seed flour or Sunflower seed flour
  • 1/4 cup of good quality cocoa or cacao powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Coating if desired
  • good quality chocolate melted (if wanting to coat them)
  • your favourite toppings (e.g. crushed nuts & seeds, cocoa nibs, desiccated coconut, matcha green tea powder, dried fruit powders, chai or turmeric latte spice mix etc)
  1. Blend the nuts and seeds on high speed in a food processor to a rough or fine consistency dependant on your preference
  2. Add 8 dates, flour of choice, cocoa and salt and blend until mixture clumps together
  3. Test mixture by squeezing a small ball in your hand
  4. If mixture doesn't hold you can try adding an extra date or 2 and a tsp of room temp coconut oil
  5. Roll into roughly 20 balls (~2 bites per serve) then refrigerate on a tray to set for 15mins
  6. In this time you can get your toppings ready in small bowls and melt chocolate if using
  7. Roll individual balls in favourite toppings. Chocolate coat balls using a toothpick before dipping in chunkier toppings like crushed nuts or cocao nibs
  8. Return to the refridgerator in an airtight container & consume within two weeks

You can experiment with other nuts and seeds or add different dried fruits for your own personalized flavour. These are a great mid-morning or mid-arvo snack with a long-lasting energy boost that will also keep you fuller than other snacks.
